Go on Amazon (CD/LP) and punch up Kent Bowman. His “Pidgin English Children’s Stories” is one of the funniest things anyplace, anywhere. But all thru the 60/70/80’s he totally ripped on Hawaiian politics. Retired to San Diego and passed on in the 90’s as I recall. I have his other album and it’s necessary to play a bit every now and then. His rips on Hawaiian gummint are as timely now as then-—little ever changes.
Thanks! I’ve read a book or two, long ago, pidgien-English dictionary. Maybe he wrote it or them? Was screamingly funny, especially having heard pidgin for years, although not proficient in it myself. Friends were, either local or been there so long they were kamaaina.
