I recall very early reports from that day saying that one of the engines from Flight 93 was found about a mile from the crash scene. I would not be surprised if 93 was intercepted. I have no doubt the passengers were on the move.

Regarding flight 93 on 9/11, I KNOW for a fact that Toledo (Ohio Air Guard, possibly 180th fighter wing)) launched 2 fighters that flew supersonic right over the St Bernard’s golf course where my mother was golfing in her weekly league. They were heading eastbound to do something, and I don’t think it was to play tiddlywinks.

They generally don’t go supersonic over populated areas unless it’s with a mission.

I don’t think we’ll ever know the answer to whether US air assets fired upon any civilian plane, but maybe it’s better that way.
