If Mumbles actually had highly classified stuff at home, etc. wouldn’t he have had to sign for it? Shouldn’t there be a check sheet someplace with a whole lot of blank return lines. One doesn’t just meander into a controlled area and snag a few things to take home to read later. And he sure as bleep doesn’t get t0 drift down the hall to the Xerox machine to burn off a few copies. Seems to me there are some more people with heavy duty exposure to SloJoe’s paper collection?
On top of that, there would be his signature on file every single time he was briefed on the standard of care demanded of him in exchange for being granted access to the classified information. (Note: you actually sign a contract with the government.)
He should also have had a person on his staff responsible for the proper storage of the information. That person should have been screaming bloody murder as his butt would have been caught trap should the documents been found where they shouldn't.
Who were these custodians? That would be a really good question for the congress to ask. Were they told to sit down and shut up, if they knew what was good for them?
