As much as Russia has been our adversary for a long time, things are not what they once were. I do recall in second grade, we had air raid drills where we practiced ducking under our desks (as if those desks, as stout as they were, were going to stop the radiation).
Anyway, a lot has changed since then. Gorbachov tore down that wall. There’s at least a modicum of freedom in Russia these days. And most important of all, Russia isn’t trying to poison the world with the likes of Covid.
I think Putin is on the right side of things right now, given what our own government has become. And I don’t say that with ease. I’m more fearful lf what Washington, DC is going to do to us than what Moscow is going to do to us. And I will definitely hear him out when Tucker’s interview, if there is one, comes out.
A former neighbor of ours was from Russia and she said the school children there did much the same ducking under desks as they were told America would come and kill them. Seems everyone was lied to and terrified.
I know someone who was doing some volunteer work with some Russian girls, for a few months. Also I know a couple of other Americans who have lived there, one married a Russian woman and moved there. Russia is absolutely not what it used to be. It is more free in many ways. Homo parades and exposing children to the agenda are illegal. Marriage, family and religion are promoted. Putin’s popularity ranges between 70-80%. It is prosperous. There is more than a modicum of freedom.
Of course Putin has more power than a US president has, so he can seem dicatorial. He knows US elites worship Satan and are pedos.
“Duck and Cover” was never about radiation, it was about being in a stable, covered position for when the blast wave hit and blew, in particular, all the glass out of windows.

I agree with most of what you said, but I don’t think Putin is on the right side of things. I think like Trump said, he’s smart. I think he’s sly and a bit greasy. But yeah, I fear more of what our gov’t can do to us than Russia.
