It might be safe to assume that the perp(s) are likely already dead from other crimes the got ‘caught’ at.
I wonder just how often that is the case, that the perps are later killed doing more crime or imprisoned and are never tied to that earlier crime. Not like they would rush to confess more crimes to increase their legal system woes.
I’ve read that murder cases and bank robberies in many large cities have woefully low solve rates. Maybe many of the guilty are dead or in prison within a few years of the original crime.

Seems I went to a Burger Chef a few times in the 1970’s - not a lot - shoot I remember an Arthur Treachers about 20 miles from here.
One thing I remember about 1978 or 1979 - tacos were 33 cents at Taco Bell
And the food was prepared in the store - unlike today (the meat came in bags that were boiled to warm them up - this was around 25 years ago)
