I believe the Bible——with my acceptance that only some is history and other parts are parable or allegories.

Jesus told some of the stories because that was a way he could get uneducated people living during his time to understand his message.

If he was alive today, his message wouldn't be that much difference. We are not that much more educated than people who were alive during his time.
