I remember when FR was a bulletin board on Compuserve in the old dial up days. I was excited when I got a 1200 baud rate modem.
We’d go online, download threads and logg off. Then reply offline, log in, and post. Saved minutes.
Anyone remember SAJ?
She even had a site where she chronicled all the connections of the Clintons scandals.
FReerepublic used to link to it, but she got older and tired and shabged the site to something more suitable to her slower years.
Love that woman.
They had a server crash. Many of us had to reenroll with new names.
Loves me some FREEPER humor! You devil, you. Lol.
Remember folks, comedy is best comedy when a kernel of truth is included.
Never visited Thailand.
Dubai however, was a destination, once upon a time. High five!
I remember when I joined you were telling someone about it, and while I did not chime in as newbie, I was really into your description of how, as you put it then, “The Old Days Were like”.
LOL
Congratulations and thank you very much, OneVike!
Remember when we had a sister site out of Canada we would top to, and then there was, I believe a Yahoo site that carried forums at the time.
I may be wrong on yahoo, but I remember going there when things crashed.
2 freepers I really miss…..Commontator, and YaYa123
No, thank you JIM.
I am honored you allowed me to stick around after I royally screwed up a few times.
You were well withing your right, but you were gracious to me and I am forever indebted to you.
God bless you, and your always in my prayers brother.
Congratulations, OneVike!
Hi, OneVike!
I signed up in December,1998, after lurking since 1997 and attending in person the March for Justice on October 31, 1998 in DC.Protested with the DC Chapter in 1999 and 2000 at the White House.
Fun times.
Oh I got you. I was saved the trouble obviously.
I know that happened from time to time.
REPRESENTING!
Thanks much.
Great thread. I am bookmarking it for a late night read from my phone with my head on a pillow
Not something we could do back in the day.
Happy FRanniversary, and it doesn’t have to be on the exact day after all these years. Feller can’t remember everything. Like where I put my glasses...
Thank you.
This is truly better than a birthday with my physical family.
Sadly, most are liberals so we don’t get along much.
So this is a true blessing.
Sadly I missed all the get together, because my wife has never been able to travel well, I have always been needed around home. So I vicariously lived through the many Freepers who attended them.
The thing I miss most was the old Friday Funnies humor thread. Sometimes there were these hilariously long threads of jokes, memes, gifs and just wise-guy remarks that kept me chuckling all day.
I enjoy seeing and old name on an old thread and then I click on their name to see their born on date and then search out their last post before they got banned or just left.
