One of the best ever was Richard Rodgers’ score for the Victory at Sea WWII documentary series from the early 1950s.

If you’ve never seen it, you owe it to yourself to watch every one of the 26 episodes of this epic work from back when NBC was still on our side. It’s all on YouTube.
To each his own
Agree. And what about Sam Spence and the old NFL music from the 60s and 70s. Just awesome. This was probably my favorite although it wasn’t Sam spence.....but they played it on NFL films , NFL game of the week....I used to love it:

Agree totally, but you beat me to it by a few minutes. I have never gotten tired of hearing it!
The theme for “Newhart” by Henry Mancini is beautiful.
Yes, and i think either Ed Aames or Andy Griffith, possible and definitely Ernest Borgnine. Just can’t place the last guy....
yes, and the scenery too.

My fathers “Austria” moment was abourd a troop ship on its way to Okinawa for operation Coronet, the mainland invasion of Japan.
Instead of invading the area near Tokyo with the 8th Army after Nagasaki he was part of the occupation troops until he was sent to Pusan Korea on August 4th 1950.

The sound track of my life:
A wonderful success navigating through incredibly tumultuous times inspite of my short comings and all because of an entire generations sacrifices that I was to stupid at the time to appreciate. Gratitude, it’s never to late. Get some.

The original “Littlest Hobo” theme song still tugs at my heart strings.
Yup. Agree
Gets my vote!
Never heard it or of it......but yeah...it’s nice. Thanks.
I’m torn between which 70s NFL theme was the best, they were all great:
NBC

CBS - NFL Today

And ABC’s Monday Night Football - Original Theme

We just started to binge the series.
I learned how to do shoulder rolls to reruns of Mannix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLTb3_-pdU4
Yep. Dukes of Hazzard was the best IMO. It also corresponds to me childhood so........
OMG! The....gasp gasp....Confederate Flag appearing on network TV!!! White Southerners not being portrayed as hateful, stupid, backwards, etc. We just can’t have that!!!!
(and many thanks to your Dad -- and to mine -- as well. Cheers!)
Yes, all great. agree. Heck, even the NBA themes were so much better back then. You remember this one from CBS? I used to love this:

I liked the original footage of Victory at Sea and the theme is stirring. The narration was too over the top propagandistic IMO. But that was the style back then.
I would have liked it more if they had shown what a brutal struggle it was, how many ships were sunk and sailors lost on the way to achieving victory at sea. The good guys won in the end but lots of people paid a high price for it.
