LOL we’re on our 4th dishwasher in 20 years. My husband had to essentially rebuild the last two, piece by piece.

I’m clinging to my 25 yr old Whirlpool with both hands. The repairman, who has had to come out exactly twice, recommended I do this because “anything in the last 15 years is garbage.”

I’ve lived for seven decades in a number of modern houses with a dishwasher (my wife), but we’ve never used the dishwasher appliance in any of them. We consider them basically useless.

Just had to replace a microwave that was less than ten years old. Used the spare one (dated 1986) for awhile.

My small fridge from college (bought used in 1979) still keeps my soda cold and the little freezer works. It has survived two travels across the country and one to the midwest and back to the west coast (daughter’s college). A plastic bit on our new fridge broke after a year. Something to do with the door, but it still seems to close just fine.
