Especially coming from a woman. Women are supposed to have a civilizing effect on society, not make it more vulgar. No, I'm not a delicate prude or thin-skinned snowflake (I grew up in a rough area and have been in the military and around cops and firemen all my life so I don't have "virgin ears"), but past generations had a better sense of propriety and know how it affects society for better or worse.
βTo a great extent the level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood. When a man loves a woman, he has to become worthy of her. The higher her virtue, the more noble her character, the more devoted she is to truth, justice, goodness, the more a man has to aspire to be worthy of her. The history of civilization could actually be written in terms of the level of its women.β
