“Where does that money come from?”

Ticket prices explain a lot of it... for all pro sports icket prices are absolutely ridiculous.

The nfl team where I am was planning to charge $99 just for a place to stand during playoff games....hilariously enough they dropped 5 games in a row at the end of the season thereby snatching defeat from the jaws of victory......and I laughed and laughed.

Even nascar......if you’ve ever attended a race you know your basically renting a spot to stand because nobody wants to sit down....when tickets for Daytona races got to $95 for a decent seat that was it for me.

The UFC started having fights here. Interested in seeing the fights live I checked ticket prices.......the cheapest seat were over $500.......WHAT???!!!

It’s interesting to compare ticket prices nowadays with ticket prices from decades ago, and adjusted for inflation , you’ll find in most sports, tickets are far more expensive now than they were then.

I heard people tell stories about how when they were little their Grandpa took them to Fenway Park , and they were able to do so . Nowadays it is a big expense to take their own children to Fenway Park.

Long term , are sports shooting themselves in the foot, as far as developing the next generation of fans?

Playoffs game? Makes sense. But if it's regular season, good seats should cost $50. Bad seats = $10-$20.
