If the water table is less then 40 feet no major rocks you might be able to do it yourself.

I have a bit that is cheep that can go a long way with a power drill and water hose. I used it many times to go under cement slabs. Not straight down. It brakes rocks though when you hit a rock the drill jumps you have to be careful. you don't need all the equipment he is selling. it's a two piece bit not counting the pipe. The bit and the water inlet. (the bit looks like this but I can't find the the inlet.
