The Democrats will probably push Biden aside for Newsom or Michelle Obama at the Chicago convention. What better way to create a "ticket of national unity" than to bring Chris Christie or some other never-Trumper on board as VP. The two parties are fragmenting anyway, so why not take advantage of the situation to realign your party with a new reality?

The countermove is to bring on a commonsense Democrat on as Trump's VP. Kennedy could fit the bill as well as Gabbard. Now you have another ticket of national unity for a realignment of the parties.

Think of it as a series of 5-D chess moves.

Publius, this strategy reminds me of years of conservatives having to vote for RINOs just to get a “Republican” instead of a democrat. Trump aside, look where that got us.

A strategy playing to national unity is a deal with the devil. I suspect most of America is so fed up with both parties that any deal trying to unify the parties is DOA.

History shows us tyranny aka. communism, socialism, fascism can not be dealt with or appeased. They must all be soundly defeated or the People will never know true liberty.

Just my .02 ; )
