I would like to make the illegals an offer, you leave the country and you can apply to return to the US legally with no repercussions after a thorough background check to make sure you are who we would like to have with us. This would include the usual path to citizenship as with any other legal immigrant. You MUST apply from your home country with applications delivered, in person at a US Embassy or consulate in your home country. At that time each applicant will be photographed and fingerprinted.

You MUST remain outside the US while your application is being considered. Any acceptance of your application must be picked up, in person, at a US embassy or consulate in your home country. No exceptions. NOTHING done by mail. Acceptance of an immigration application will come with a green card and tax ID which will convert to a Social Security account should the immigrant become a citizen.

I vote NO on this portion-illegals have already broken the law. We do not need to EVER allow them citizenship.

Now that that is off my chest, I’ll read the rest of your proposal.

I can understand why you feel this way. I do recognize that at the majority of the illegals are generally good people trying to escape what they see as a no win situation in their home countries.

If they are willing to voluntarily leave and apply properly I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and at least consider their application. In the mean time they are OUT of the US. If they haven't caused trouble I am more than willing to give them a second look.

We will need the bodies. None of us are perfect. I want the generally good ones.
