If you use google to search the terms

Yom Hashoah 2024

you will find the following date. Note: Hebrew days start at sundown so this Hebrew date starts May 5 at sundown and runs through sundown of the following day.

Evening of Sun, May 5, 2024 – Mon, May 6, 2024

During 1951, the Israeli parliament established the date to celebrate Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) as the 27th day of the first month. But that is not January 27. The first month within the Hebrew calendar. The first month is named, "Nisan" (Literally means, "First Month") which falls during the spring and starts the day of the new moon.

Also, the dates corresponding to the Gregorian calendar shifts from one year to the next, because the Hebrew calendar is based on the lunar cycle. 7 times every 19 years of the Hebrew calendar, an extra month is added (making a total of 13 months for that year) in order to align the two calendars. This is why Hanukkah for some years falls shortly after Thanksgiving and other years, just before Christmas.

Hope this helps.
