The scale of the Ukraine-Russia war and what’s at stake for us isn’t at all comparable to the threat America faced during World War II.
None of Britains enemies posed a realistic threat to the US in 1940-41. The US could have remained unconcerned and neutral as the Allies, and China, burned.
It was aid to the Allies and China that put the US in the crosshairs. Pearl Harbor was the result of the desperate dilemma that Roosevelts economic pressure put Japan into.
But the current bad guys do pose serious threats.
