I’m guessing the mummification process. They ripped out all the viscera that could decompose and probably pushed the fetus up there.

Maybe a triplet? I read somewhere that back in the day (before modern medicine), triplets were often a death sentence for the mother. The third baby would normally be so far up in the abdomen that it couldn’t be safely delivered.
I offer this knowing nothing more about the mommy mummy in question.
