Mrs Child and I have a firm rule. Except as a last resort for something VERY bad, any drug for us must be thoroughly tested and in widespread use for at least 10 years. And then we have to carefully research it.

I’m 10-15 lbs heavier than I’d like to be. I know why. Self discipline (rather lack thereof). I will either exert the necessary self restraint or I will stay where I am at. My wife’s self discipline is extraordinary (and rather annoying to yours truly).

I noticed this about the women’s pictures in the story.
Young, into selfies with excessive makeup, collagen lips, and do not appear to be overweight. Red flags for narcissism. Likely do their research and get medical advice on Tik Tok. Certainly not the type to carefully question a doctor about a drug they want after seeing it on TV.

It is enlightening how few young people take advantage of the wealth of *real* information available by putting out some effort and then filtering with common sense and critical reasoning. It’s so much easier to get everything from a social media “influencer”. I’m convinced that Gen Z has been bred with no ability to think for itself.

Title me child of the 50s so... Yes, there is lots of information available these days and a WHOLE lot of it is just WRONG. No surprise, my wife can find support for any position she wants to take or thing to believe she wants to... all from some kind of "valid" or "reputable" source on the galactic web or some book. >P> I was looking for information about what foods irritate and soothe the gall bladder. Even within the same articles from reputable sources there are contradictions. Eat peanuts says one because of some study of women who ate peanuts and had a lower incidence of gall bladder irritation. Without doubt and without exception I can tell you that eating peanuts will put my gall bladder in full revolt. Peanut butter is good for the gall bladder and fats are bad? Ever open a jar of peanut butter that has been on the shelf very long only to see the oil floating on top of the creamy peanut butter? No, I don't care what kind of fat it is the body sees it the same for digestion.

So yeah, lots of information available but with no filters and it is on the galactic net so it must all be true, mustn't it? And yes, most generations today have lost or never had the ability to think critically and with discernment fed by a healthy dose of suspicion if not cynicism.
