I certainly am not so committed to the Big Bang Theory as to discount all challenges to it, but I do think it's important that weaknesses in the alternative model being promoted by Eric Lerner be likewise accounted for.

(And again, Eric Lerner, much like Hannes Alfvén, believes that the universe has always existed, and is infinitely old; a universe without a beginning is something I don't believe in whatsoever.)

I don’t believe in an always-existed universe either. Entropy would have destroyed all order by now.

A “beginning” always begs the question of “what was there before that”? Who or what started things?
