A Las Vegas criminal who flung himself over the judge's bench and attacked her last week appeared before her again on Monday to be sentenced to 19 to 48 months in prison.

Deobra Redden, 30, launched himself at Clark County District Judge Mary Kay Holthus on Wednesday with the words 'nah **** that b****' as she rejected his pleas for more probation.

Now, he was brought back into Holthus' courtroom in shackles, wearing a spit mask on his face and orange mitts on his hands, flanked by a group of jail officers.

He was sentenced up to four years in prison for a felony battery charge stemming from a baseball bat attack last year. The 'flying felon' was initially was charged with assault but reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty in November to a reduced charge of attempted battery resulting in substantial injuries.

Redden faces new felony charges for launching himself at the judge, who is considered a 'protected person' in Nevada, but refused to make an initial court appearance for the charges. He is expected back in court on Tuesday for a hearing related to these new charges, reported KTNV.

Court video showed Holthus fall back from her seat against a wall when Redden landed atop her and grabbed her hair, toppling an American flag onto them, as she begged him to stop before security staff managed to haul him off.

The marshal along with the judge attempt to dodge the attack, but Redden threw himself on top of both of them and began to brutally beat-up Holthus.

He was not shackled or in jail garb at his sentencing hearing on Wednesday because he had been released from custody as part of his plea deal.

I only scanned the article...saw the word “Deobra”...thought it was the the judge’s name...and naturally went looking for her ethnicity because I’m a racist. Your comment straightened me out. It was the perp’s name...poor guy! With a name like that, he’s been set on “triggered” his entire life. No wonder he was so good at bounding over the judge’s bench. That was Olympic-style quality.

This is how he should have been shackled up for the first time he met this judge.

The first time he met her was for another crime for which she gave him probation.
Guess he was counting on that happening again.

During the video, just before he attacked, the video shows a bailiff totally engrossed at his desk, not looking up at all. There may have been other deputy sheriffs in the room, we don’t know. I can imagine future judges making sure there are extra sheriffs in the room.

Then again, he might be able to hook up with Colon Krapernick. They both are hateful people. Maybe he can ‘demonstrate’ with Colon at a ‘tryout’ Demonstrate they can still play. The demonstration could take place in a mock courtroom, with Colon throwing the football at the judge as the receiver jumps at the judge.
