From the 2019 New Yorker Article

“ Ransome was another imperfect witness. In the fall of 2016, she had suggested to the New York Post that she had sex tapes of half a dozen prominent people, including Bill Clinton and Donald Trump—but couldn’t provide the tapes when asked. (Ransome told me that she had invented the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior, and to make him believe that she had “evidence that would come out if he harmed me.”) In 2017, Boies represented Ransome in a lawsuit against Epstein for sex trafficking; last December, Epstein paid an undisclosed sum to settle. ”

Boise was also the lawyer for Harvey Weinstein. When model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, with the aid of the NYPD conducted a recorded, in person sting with Harvey Weinstein in 2015, in which he apologized on tape for having inappropriately touched her during a casting meeting, Cyrus Vance, Jr., Democrat Manhattan D.A. refused to prosecute Weinstein. Boise gave $10,000 to Vance's campaign fund right after he refused to press charges against Weinstein.

Eric Schneiderman was the Democrat NY State Attorney General. He was accused of assaulting four women, and ended up resigning in 2018. Cyrus Vance, Jr. begged Governor Andrew Cuomo to let him conduct the investigation into the allegations against Schneiderman. Perhaps Vance was planning on doing for Schneiderman, what he'd done for Weinstein in 2015. There was a bit of tension between Vance and Cuomo, especially after Cuomo appointed Democrat Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas as special prosecutor over Vance. In 2018, Singas reported that Schneiderman would not be prosecuted, despite having admitted to the assaults.

Then it was Cuomo's turn to resign. It doesn't take too much imagination to wonder if Cuomo's demise was helped by both Vance, and Schneiderman. Vance chose not to run for re-election in 2021, and that's how NY City ended up with Alvin Bragg. Singas got her reward from Cuomo when he appointed her to be Associate Judge of the New York Court of Appeals in 2021.
