Most other nations (some form of socialized medicine) dictate prescription drug prices. This means the US public pays for a LARGE chunk of drug development costs for the world. How is that fair to US patients?
Also, the corruption of drug companies bribing politicians has resulted in unprecedented allowances for “renewing” or “refreshing” drug patents that use to be ineligible for such renewal. When such things as insulin... are allowed to be protected again, guaranteeing a free reign to charge exorbitant profit margins when the patent should have expired... there is something wrong.
