A first-of-its-kind statewide call brought a once-missing teen home safely this week — just a few days after the new law that made it possible took effect.
The California Highway Patrol issued the state’s first Ebony Alert on Thursday, Jan. 4, for a missing 17-year-old girl who had last been seen on Dec. 30 at Broadway and West Florence Avenue in Los Angeles. The Long Beach Police Department requested the alert on Thursday.
A Long Beach police detective found the teen unharmed on Friday morning, Jan. 5, and helped her return home safely, said LBPD spokesperson Richard Mejia.

Glad they found her, but that kind of racial discrimination is probably unconstitutional.

Gee professor… I can’t understand why an 18 year old missing white man wouldnt have gotten an amber alert either!

My guess, is eventually, the majority of black people will see that these Ebony Alerts tend to stigmatize the Alert, and may even prompt some to ignore such Alerts, since it ‘would only be about some missing black child’. It would be better to keep as before, one generic Alert for any lost child.
One cannot legislate compassion and empathy.

Can they use it to alert the public the next time BLM/Antifa stage a looting spree or shutdown another freeway?
It seems similar to the Democrats in the past having a runaway slave alert, for Democrat property.
Ebony Alert no doubt has multiple employees making six-figure salaries. No black children will ever get any benefit, until they grow up and get an Affirmative Action job.
Were she not found, racism would have been blamed for disinterest in Ebony alerts.

Completely absent from that story is in the indication she was actually in trouble. So we now have a system for Black people in California to transfer parental responsibility to the police? Just call the police and say they haven’t come home yet and everybody will be bothered by on Ebony alert?
So at least we can be sure there are not a lot of crackers out there going wild stealing dem black folk.
Which begs the question, is it only an Ebony Alert if a honkey abducts a poor black child?

The majority of the article is trying to defend the Ebony Alert because of alleged past racism.
I’ll be ignoring “ebony” alerts. I don’t do racist things like pay attention only because a black person is involved.
So by inference, all Amber Alerts will now only be for caucasion-ish children. Should only take a few years before the tables turn and they get mischaracterized as “privileged” and racist.
