Darned good question. If there is a solution, then I think it will involve making them self-deport. Not sure how. Maybe an actual enforcement of hiring laws. But I don’t see any sign of any law enforcement happening.

About all we can hope for is a closing of the border. Not even sure that is likely at this point.

I think there will be wars fought in the big cities between the welfare crowd and illegals. As soon as the resident welfare people find their benefits getting lowered there will be Hell to pay. Already there are complaints the illegals are getting more goodies free. Add to that the illegals are taking over the drug trade in places. That will not go over well either.

It used to be a one step solution, but at this late date it's two:

1. Any state giving any type of assistance or recognition to illegal aliens receives no federal aid in any form (food stamps, highway funds, medical care subsidies, etc.).

2. A 50% tax on any foreign wire remittances by non-citizens, 30% on citizens.

Hiring laws won't work. E-Verify, as much as I want to see it implemented, won't work with the new folks as Biden (and Trump and others) give them work permits. They are working legally. Can those work permits be rescinded? If so, yes, they will self-deport.

We still need E-Verify as it will root out the millions that were not given work permits.
