If distilled water leaches minerals out of your body, what does using distilled water in a CPAP do to your lungs?
I have no idea. I never use the humidifier part. I am not in a dry climate at all. I have on occasion put the Himalayan salt in the water reservoir. If it’s just the water vapor going into your lungs probably no big deal.
I get my nutrients from food and my hydration from water. I have been drinking distilled water for years, with all normal blood lab results...
I have used a CPAP system for some years now - and never has one drop of water passed through it. Every morning I wash and rinse the 'nasal pillow' and leave it on the counter to dry; I do the same with the mask frame and 'headgear' on Saturdays. Those are supposed to be cycled every few weeks; mine last for months. Same with the tubing, which I never wash; it is always dry, although I do hang it every morning for good measure.
The only thing that needs regular cycling are the filters. My area is apparently a dusty place. 😐 My CPAP supplier doesn't think much good about me... tee hee
Of course, if one feels they need water in their CPAP then so be it. From day one I ran mine dry and see no reason to change so far. 🤗
