We are founded on Biblical Princables. We are the ONLY Nation that says that rights come from GOD.
That is NOT codified into law. It is in the Declaration of Independence which is persuasive authority but not codified law.
The Supreme law of the land is the Constitution. Our codified Law of the Land is the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution creates and delegates certain limited enumerated powers to the feds, mostly in Art I, Sec. 8. If it's not in the Constitution, it is NOT a federal power.
Read and re-read the 9th and 10th Amendments. No mention of God means the feds have NO authority or regulatory power over religion, beliefs or thoughts. Thank God.
Our Founders did not want another State Church or Religion like the Church of England which is why many escapee to the New World of America.
The Declaration of Independence is very important to understand the presumptions of the Constitution, one of the main ones being that God, not man or his government, gave man his rights.
So the constitutional presumption is the government it created has NO inherent power. The people and the states DELEGATE certain limited and enumerated powers to the feds via the Constitution. If it ain’t in the Constitution, it ain’t a federal power.
