I read a book many years ago where the author foresaw technology and even nano tech, being used in our brains to control us. The problem he foresaw was someone powerful enough to impose the tech on the masses and putting them in permanent control of humanity and the world.
For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the book, but I recall thinking he had a point, and now we are seeing the fruition of that very thing.
