The “they didn’t know what it was then” says it all, because they only knew after someone told them at a later date-either without realizing they were doing harm to that kid’s psyche, or intentionally, as a groomer. Kids lack discernment almost entirely-look it up if you doubt it-they can develop fixations and fears that are baseless but real to them if they are coached by an older individual whether with bad intent or not.
