FTA——

To paraphrase Churchill, Harvard’s clear
choice was between scandal and dishonor;
it chose dishonor and now it will have scandal.

Harvard had to choose:
(a) to be America’s preeminent university,
or (b) have a plagiarist as its president.

But not both.

Gay’s fallback position was that she had adhered to the “highest standards of scholarship,” as her growing history of plagiarism made such assertions preposterous—and exposed the gullible Harvard Corporation that swallowed her academic BS as ethically compromised themselves.

“Tolerance and compassion” works well when govt jobs and tax dollars are being allocated by the pols on Capitol Hill but it is a ruinous stance in the hallowed halls of ivy.
