A Minnesota man who spent years building a record-setting collection of items related to the rock group KISS is selling it off due to financial problems.
Vern Simon conducted a count of the items in his collection last year and found that he had nearly 3,800 KISS-related dolls, comic books, toys, and other items.
After he submitted the count to the Guinness Book of World Records, he was certified as having the largest known collection of KISS memorabilia.
Simon says he's sad to have to let his collection go, but said it was necessary to find a way to take care of his family.

“Definitely worth bucks”
I think so but from some of the posts on this thread there is some ignorance as to the worth of Kiss memorabilia
Way too rich for my blood. I have several and the most expensive is $300. Your wife’s... what, $4-5k?
Just sell it to other collectors
They’ve been around for 50 years. They will be popular 20 years from now.
“6 modest guitars? Thems rookie numbers! You’ve gotta pump up your game A LOT more if you wanna run with the big dogs. Starting numbers is 20”
That’s just the guitars... and it’s been refined over and over and over.
Yes the local appraiser says 4-5k for our area is about right.
He also stated other more music-centric locations e.g. Nashville, LA or NYC could bring considerably more.
Anecdotally, that bass was more than likely in the same recording studio with Lynyrd Skynyrd before MCA picked them up.
You see, my wife’s dad and his partner recorded them in their local studio here around ‘69 or ‘70.....back then they were calling themselves “1 percent” and playing the local bars.
One of the cuts is actually the 1st time Freebird was ever recorded.
All that is true my friend.....if you search for “Shade Tree demo” on YouTube you’ll see I’m telling the truth. Her dad was Jim Sutton and his (now my wife’s) partner is Tom Markham. Jim and Tom have credit on YouTube as the producers.
There’s actually A LOT more to the story but I’ll save you from that.
I told my wife if I’d have known she was Rock n Roll royalty I would have married her 10 years before I did. 😁
Have a blessed day my friend. See you around FR. 🙂
You living up near Muscle Shoals? We just moved up from Bama to North Carolina. Lots of music up here.
No. Jacksonville Florida
I had that comic. Beautiful artwork. I think I was 11.
