President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the United States for the military aid package.
“Thank you to President Joe Biden, Congress, and the American people for the $250 million military aid package announced yesterday. Additional missiles and components for air defense, anti-tank weapons, ammunition, demining equipment, and other equipment will meet Ukraine’s most urgent needs,” the message reads.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the US leadership in the coalition of more than 50 countries that provide Ukraine with military assistance is of crucial importance for countering terror and aggression not only in Ukraine but throughout the world.
“During this year, the United States provided 34 packages of military aid worth more than $24 billion. Patriots, Abrams, armored vehicles, ATACMS, DPICM, air defense, missiles, artillery shells, demining equipment, and other critical equipment. A historic decision was made to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. We will always be grateful for all this support. To protect freedom and security not only in Ukraine and Europe but also in the United States, we must continue to oppose Russian aggression as strongly and decisively as possible,” the head of state concluded.
