Money can make it possible to pursue the happiness you desire.
The money itself is just stored potential value.
Money will not buy happiness but it does buy comfort and options. Poverty can cause severe unhappiness. Lottery winners are mostly not good with financial decisions hence a brief (time/money rate) spend mania then back to the poor house.
