Roberts builds a nice strawman, but it is easily struck down.
“Solidarity” was, in his mind, necessary to beat Covid (or as he later states, Climate Change), but that solidarity means doing what the Left says to do. So we conservatives don’t want to do what it takes to beat Covid. NO!
We don’t want to do what the LEFT says to do to beat Covid. Those things are not the same. The so-called Conservative movement not wanting to commit to “solidarity” is the strawman.
Take for example the enforcement of no going out to eat, pray in a church, go to the gym, or even the skateboard park (anyone remember when Los Angeles actually filled the skate park with sand to prevent people from skating?).
Doing any of that was equal to wanting to kill Grandma.
However, if you were rioting, looting or just protesting George Floyd’s murder, well that was okay. If you were a rich democrat politician, it was okay for you and your elite friends to sneak into a restaurant or gathering or dance hall.
Covid was smart enough not to infect protesters or the rich democrat politicians but would spread like wildfire at church or the gym.
Solidarity my ass.
Try hypocrisy.
Yes. Not to mention the Covid protocols were a disaster. Lives ruined. Businesses ruined. People fired. People died alone. Lives lost. Trillions lost. On and on. This guy wants to be forgiven of all that because he had good intentions. We told him he was wrong but liberals are too arrogant and self righteous to listen.
