Lol sorry- I hit post before checking for errors
Basically i said “enter the fire blanket”- they have been advertising them on tv lately- course the electric fire would likely burn them to a crisp on no time

“If a gas car catches fire, do they print how many gallons was used to extinguish it?”
————-
Right in the article:
“Pine Level Fire Chief Austin Worcester said a typical car fire can take between 300 to 1,000 gallons to put out, depending on how advanced the vehicle is. He said the extra water needed in this case was “typical of an electric vehicle fire.”

Maybe a Cement truck full of ready-mix would be sufficient.............

“He just “sold” it to his insurance company.”

Yeah, maybe not - he was arrested for drunk driving, and I would bet that every auto policy has an exception for that, as well as any other criminal activity involved in damaging or destroying the covered vehicle. Does a bank robber get a check from Allstate after the po-po run his car off the road?

That’s exactly what they would get from one explosion: a few thousand little fires they can’t put out from all the little lithium batteries being ejected all over the place............

Good points about his DUI. He probably just lost $60,000.

“As a volunteer firefighter, our training for electrical vehicle fires (in our cases, those would be trains), was chemical—keep water far away as all it does it conduct electricity.”
Water is the standard for EV fires.
“as all it does it conduct electricity.”
It also cools the burn.

The EV crashed because the driver was DUI. Might not be insurance payoff for the EV.

Heap a pile of illegals on it...that might work.
And throw in some DIM Pols,...and some RINO meat.
I'd pay to watch that.

Separated, detached garages will be coming back. Great new selling feature for virtue signaling house buyers with EVs. Make sure you have good snow boots.
I’d think twice about the mother-in-law unit above the garage.

I wouldn’t want that to burn down either (or to pay the insurance premiums that I’d have to pay if the insurance company found out I had an EV). Maybe a much simpler carport or awning or something like a barn at a good distance from the house.

You are right. Since libs love going back to old tech (EVs, trains), they would love a basic horseless carriage barn. What’s old is new again.

EV fire? Standard firefighting equipment should include an excavator. Dig a deep hole and shove the burning vehicle into it. Smother with dirt.

It should only take an hour for the battery to burn itself out. The alternative will be to continually dump water on the vehicle for 6 to 8 hours. Depending on location, adding flammables to it might help speed it up to less than an hour - a cord or two of firewood, some magnesium, maybe some phosphorous.
