No thanks. A reverse merger with the Mountain West makes a ton more sense. Washington State and Oregon State want to belong to a strong regional conference. If the geniuses at Berkley and Stanford think that it makes more sense to play Boston College than Oregon State on a regular basis, then they can go to Hell, or at least Massachusetts.
The SEC and the Pac-2 are the only power five conferences that make sense as a group of schools working together for common educational purposes.
Washington State and Oregons State have signed on with the West Coast Conference for basketball next year. Geographically it’s a good move for all. Adds two more teams to compete with the Zags and St Mary’s.
