Merry Christmas to our veterans old and young, from the distant past or from just recently and in-between, who had doubts they would be here today.

My company had more than twenty Marines and Corpsmen killed in December 1966. By the time Christmas got there, no one wanted to celebrate.

It might be a little intense for some but half a century later it is worth recognizing that they are here in this distant future of 2023 and that they are experiencing this Christmas Day, no matter if they are having a big event or having it alone, whether sad or happy, joyful or broken, enthusiastic or melancholy, they are here, alive and experiencing it.

52 years ago I was on FSB Buttons near Song Be, don’t really remember much about that Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all Vietnam Veterans!! My only brother was in the U.S. Army, and a Vietnam Veteran. 57 years ago, he was in Cu Chi, serving with the 25th Infantry Division. His last Christmas with his family was 1994, passing at the age of 51 in March 1995. He is still missed very much.

My wife’s youngest brother turned 21 and finished half of his 1 year tour with the Big Red One at that time.
Fortunately, he made it home safely with the exception of getting exposed to Agent Orange. He is still alive and in fair shape. His wife died of cancer a couple of years ago.

Was in Bhin Thuy, North, RVN on Christmas day 53 years ago.
As I recall, we got a half day off.
Merry Christmas!

Fifty years ago today I had been home for two and a half years. I always tell people that I had been in the safest place at the safest time in RVN.
I never expected to be this old nor did I ever expect how fast I got here.

Thank you to all of you who went over and did their duty. And I know we have plenty of you on here.

Hail all these heroes, thank you from a formerly free country. I was Chicken Doodie and joined the Coast Guard at 17 years of age, before my first date or anything. Now all my friends at the gun club are in their seventies and eighties, and almost all of them went to ‘Nam’. Much respect to all who served in SE Asia.
