I am not for taxes, in general, but I think there should be a tax on professional sports teams when they are sold. The money should be dedicated to whatever public entities that foot the bill for facilities. If the local public entities haven’t paid for new stadiums, then the tax should be zero.
Or, better yet, tax the profits of these teams in proportion to how much public money has been used that year for their benefit.
