Very few comic strips featured snow regularly, but two of the all time greats, “Peanuts” and “Calvin & Hobbes” made it central, with Peanuts emphasizing the Christmas linkage. Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz grew up in Minnesota, which is a great location to be guaranteed a white Christmas. Calvin creator Bill Watterson grew up in Ohio, near Lake Eriw, so he saw lots of snow growing up, as well.
