I’m getting close to the end of a career in IT. During that time, I’ve worked with probably dozens of women in IT. I’ve known exactly four who were at or above the competency level of your run-of-the-mill average male IT guy (and I married one of them).
The rest were ineffective at best and soul-sucking burdens at worst. I’ve known some male buffoons in IT, but none can derail a project or department like a woman with power who’s in over her head.
