Sometimes you can't always tell. I worked a job where the guy who sat in the next cubicle was a heroin junkie. I had no idea. Eventually he stopped coming to work.

"What happened to Tom?"

"He's in rehab for heroin."

At work every day he acted normal and lucid.

The pupils of the eyes don’t lie though. Opiates they stay pinned when they shouldn’t and stimulants they are large when they shouldn’t.

I have a nephew who lives on the streets, an addict who was thrown out by his own mother and by homeless shelters as well, because he steals for his habit, is ab anti-Semite AND a racist (he was thrown out of the shelter for using the n-word).

I have sat next to him and the only thing I noticed was that he looked a lot older than his age, and was disheveled. His personality seemed ok, but his appearance was way off. He’s had mental issues all his life, he’s in his 30s now.
I don’t know if he’s going to make it to 40.
