"You, as a cat owner, haven’t lived until you have tripped over a dead squirrel in a dark hallway."

How about a live bat flying around your bedroom or a 18 inch copperhead snake hiding under the kitchen table? I had to repaint the kitchen ceiling because of all of the blood stains from wounded birds trying to escape.

That cat was a throw away found on a soccer field when it was a very small kitten. We had a pet door for the dog, so we put up with that cat's nature. Oh, it could climb our 6 foot wood fence like a staircase and the neighbor's chain link fence like it was a step stool. On the positive side, it was the nicest cat in the neighborhood. The kids on our street used to dress it up in baby clothes, treat it like a doll and push it around in a wagon.

That’s called feline abuse....lol.

Some cats are hunters, some are not. I had a cat that would bring in live lizards and grass snakes. You know that feeling you get when you round a corner from the bedroom and have a big green lizard staring at you at eye level? Or go into the kitchen and step on a pregnant grass snake while barefoot?

I’ve had to save two birds (so far) and too many to count lizards from the cat I have now. They can’t help their nature. Love them anyway.
