The XO of my first ship had been a Riverine guy in Vietman for his first tour. His description of being five miles away from an night time Arc Light strike was one of the most terrifying things I have ever heard. He said the water around the boat bounced.
That said, an Arc Light strike on Yemen would only raise property values.
That triggered another memory. Say what you will about King Charles, but he is very knowledgeable about architecture and VERY critical of most modern building styles. I think it was in the late 80s he gave a speech on the subject where he said, "At least when the Luftwaffe bombed London during the Blitz they didn't replace the buildings with anything more offensive than rubble." Great line and so true.

I’m Ok with sharing with the Airdales. And they still have plenty of Buffs to run an ARC Light show. But the Hooties need schooling. And the Yemens allow them to hide out there so they are overdue for a clean-up job. And the Grand Mufti in Persia needs his rags laundered. The thing I’m sort of waiting to hear about is our fleet supply ships moving in closer to support airops from, oh, say, the USS Ike. When Navair gets motivated they need Avgas about every four days. And using the Gen. Ike rule, they wouldn’t start unless they had backup on both fuel and weapons.
All I’m saying is this Arabian/ Red/ Aden sea cheapkrap is not going to go along as it is for long. Max time is next November but I don’t see it taking that long.
