Gameboy came out in LATE 89
Atari 2600 home game console came out in 1977.
My father-in-law and mother-in-law were addicted to the thing.
They had it set up in their basement and spent hours playing it.
There was no bathroom in the basement so they were peeing in a coffee can so they didn’t have to take time away from the game.
I have never owned a home game system and strongly advise parents to not have one in their home.
