When I was a kid I hated mince pies.
But...I had an aunt who made these mince pastries and the mince was inside the most perfect crust I have ever had.
I actually liked them.
We love mincemeat! I make meatless mincemeat from scratch, for pies. (Butter replaces the suet that’s in real mincemeat). I often offer to bring it to holiday dinners at my brother’s, but he won’t even try it.
My grandma grew up in London and made perfect pie crusts and delicious mincemeat. I sure do miss her.
