That’s about the size of it. Trump is a coin flip. He disappointed a bit in his first term. For example, he signed every major spending bill.

On the other hand, a GOPe candidate (for any race) is not a coin flip. We know exactly what they’ll do. Fuss a bit. Then spend, spend, spend. All the while trying to get us involved in new wars.

So I’m going with option #2 in the original post.
