I grew up hearing how terrible Joseph McCarthy was. I heard it from my teachers. I heard it from the Media. I read it in books. It was all one way, that he was the modern day Tomás de Torquemada, running roughshod over the Constitutional rights of innocent people, destroying their lives, and driving some to suicide..........

Exactly the same as my experience. I'm old enough to have seen snatches of the hearings on my neighbor's (we didn't have on yet) TV. Got the full brunt of the leftist-inspired vilification in school and college. And naively believed it as if it were fact until I read Evans & Romerstein, and another one called "Dupes" by Paul Kengor.

Moscow can't produce a decent automobile, but they sure knew how to manipulate American public opinion. And they're still doing it today, if you follow any of the "news" about Ukraine on FR.

Absolutely. How many millions of Americans have gone through Elementary School through college and heard that all the way through?

I certainly was one of them. And it makes me angry.
