My favorite Paul Revere & the Raiders tune is The Great Airplane Strike because I can relate to it. In the early summer of 1966, the machinists at several airlines walked off the job, and the picket lines were still going strong by mid-August. At the time, we were in Germany and needed to get home to California.

We found a flight to New York aboard Trans-Caribbean airlines, an airline that I had never heard of and haven't heard of since. Then we found a flight west out of the Big Town, but it only went as far as Dallas.

We had to stay in Big D for a weekend before finding seats aboard a Delta Airlines flight to Los Angeles. At the time, Delta was a regional airline serving mostly Southern airports, and the stewardesses spoke with Southern accents.

Trans-Caribbean is could probably still in operation under different management for all we know LoL. I was three years old back then so I’ll defer to your personal recollections.
