I pick Ringo in the Beatles deadpool, even though he is IIRC, the oldest member of the group.
You’re officially a has-been when you play Vegas showrooms.
Better there than Branson, I guess.
He looks remarkable for his age. He cleaned up his act years ago, and he was in it just as bad as anyone could be, especially from hanging out with Keith Moon all the time.
LOL, the dude is in his 80s, of course he’s a “has been”.
One would not say the above to Frank Sinatra in his 80's, there would be a goon, come your way.
In his 80’s with more money than we’ll ever see...
I’d love to be that kinda has been at that age.
George was the only one who did anything worth listening to after the breakup.
I loved Paul’s “Ram” album. One of the first albums I bought as a kid, and I still love it.
Funny thing, that.
Donny and Marie Osmond played The Flamingo Hotel for 10 years after their careers had a resurgence. They both appeared on Dancing with the Stars, with Donny winning in his season. They parlayed that into a successful Vegas run.
Prior to doing Dancing, Marie gave up show business and went into crafting and collectable doll designing, appearing frequently on QVC to sell her wares. It was her appearance on Dancing that reunited the Osmonds with America, and that led to their decade long show on the Vegas Strip.
Funny how that goes.

‘Ringo’ once messaged me on Twitter. I already had multiple phony celebrities message me on Twitter. He messaged me right after I said something on one of his Tweets. So suddenly I got a direct messagae from ‘Ringo’ and said he likes to keep touch with his fans and ‘hello’ type thing. I told him please leave me alone. You are not ‘Ringo’.
He anwered, ‘But I AM Ringo’.
Good grief. Probably wasn’t Ringo but that has always bothered me. What if I told Ringo to get lost?
Nothing has-been with his lineup. I saw them last Summer (10th row center) at Ste. Michelle Winery and the show was awesome. Not only are you listening to a couple of hundred years worth of performance experience, the band was so tight it was unbelievable.
Ringo has lived at least 5 lives. Before the Beatles he was a star in his own right with another Liverpool band. Then the whirlwind of course. Then a successful solo career, movies, etc. And now for years touring with a group of famous and semi-famous musicians in his All Starr Band. Not bad for a guy who was hospitalized for years as a kid.
I agree. George was definitely my favorite ex-Beatle.
“Not only are you listening to a couple of hundred years worth of performance experience, the band was so tight it was unbelievable.”
I’m most of the way through a very enjoyable book, “Sideman” by sax player/multi-instrumentalist Mark Rivera, who was the musical director for the All Star Band #s 3 & 4. He told an interesting story of how he approached the situation when, at the 1st rehearsal, the band was very sloppy (and it was just an audition for the sax job...he evolved into being musical director).
Check
Has-been… interesting take.
Plus he’s married to a former Bond Girl, Barbara Bach.
