I’m a huge admirer of RR but the debt and spending explosion started back then and has just continued regardless who is president
It makes you wonder
From George Bush on the spending has gone unchecked and hit great heights. Too many wars and bad economic policy decisions and now a day of reckoning has arrived. No road left to kick the can down!
A economist I was following a few years back predicted that our Debt would hit $40 Trillion under Biden and it’s looking like it.
humm. the last President according to my studies, who really had a handle on the budget, was probably Silent Cal. but Hoover/FDR and the great depression followed by WWII sent fiscal responsiblity down the drain. i’ve read that, of all people in recent US history, Clinton had a nearly balanced budget, basically inheriting the momentum of great economy given to us by RR, the last great world leader and President, imho. things have certainly gone to hell in a hand-basket since Bush II.
You forget outsourcing, offshoring, Amnesty, 1986 Gun control... and appointing Bush as VP.
Congress controls the purse strings, not the POTUS.
“I’m a huge admirer of RR ... “
Don’t forget amnesty.
