I just checked TS and there was nothing about this. I know that the issue of 80% of the case falling under a statute of limitations many weeks ago, but the prosecutor apparently needed to bring up old stuff to supposedly prove a pattern - which also turned out to be false. If the judge finally had a moment of clear mentation and excluded the junk that’s WAY past the statute of limitations, that is indeed YUGE. It would be nice to find what you saw. I’ll keep looking.

The AG and the Trump lawyers entered into a tolling agreement in August 2021.

The First Department held that the “Order, Supreme Court, New York County (Arthur F. Engoron, J.), entered January 9,2023, which denied defendants’ respective motions to dismiss the complaint, [is] unanimously modified, on the law, to dismiss, as time-barred . . . the claims against the [Defendants] to the extent they accrued prior to July 2014 (with respect to those [Defendants] subject to the August 2021 tolling agreement) and February 2016 (with respect to those [Defendants] not subject to the August 2021 tolling agreement.” People v. Trump, Case No. 2023-00717 (1st Dept.2023) (NYSCEF No. 31).

Tolling is a legal doctrine that allows for the pausing or delaying of the running of the period of time set forth by a statute of limitations, such that a lawsuit may potentially be filed even after the statute of limitations has run.

I haven't been able to find out the terms of the tolling.

Judge recently ruled that any later real estate transaction resets the statute i.e. extends it. I'm guessing that will be appealed.
